In September of 2003, Rabbi Avi & Faigy Zwiebel founded the Chabad Jewish Center of Southern Oregon under the guidance, inspiration and leadership of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson OB”M. The Rebbe’s profound love for all mankind and global vision has catapulted Chabad into an organization of over five thousand centers worldwide.
Chabad of Southern Oregon is dedicated to strengthening Jewish identity and continuity by sharing the beauty and richness of timeless Jewish values in a warm, nurturing and nonjudgmental environment. Chabad offers a “home” that welcomes and treasures each person for their inherent qualities and spiritual potential.
Since its founding, Chabad of Southern Oregon has brought together hundreds of people from various backgrounds and affiliations and has provided many creative and inspirational programs. These include Shabbat dinners, Jewish Learning Institute, Camp Gan Israel, Hebrew school, adult education classes, the Jewish Art Calendar, Women’s Circle, hospital chaplaincy and home-bound visitation. Holiday enrichment programs include annual Public Menorah Lightings, Passover seders, and traveling Succahs.
In addition to the regular programs, Chabad supports numerous individuals and families in their times of need. Along with providing comfort and counseling, we offer pure and simple friendship.
